Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Orbyts Group Pty Ltd (ABN 90 699 748 386) (“Orbyts”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information. It applies to our website and to the Orbyts platform.
Two different roles
Most of the personal information in Orbyts is not ours. Our customers are employers who use Orbyts to manage their own staff, and they decide what is recorded and why. For that information the employer is the controlling party and we act on their instructions as a service provider.
Separately, we handle a small amount of information in our own right — for example the contact details of the people who administer an account, and enquiries sent through this website.
What we collect
- Account information: name, work email address, and the organisation a user belongs to.
- Employment records entered by our customers: employment details, position and reporting information, remuneration, leave and time records, documents attached to a person's file, and contact details.
- Recruitment information: details supplied by a candidate when they apply for a role advertised by one of our customers.
- Technical and security information: sign-in times, IP address, approximate location and device description, retained so account holders can identify unfamiliar access.
- Enquiries: anything you send us through this website or by email.
How we use it
- To provide the platform to the employer that holds the account.
- To authenticate users and protect accounts, including alerting a person when their account is used from an unrecognised device.
- To send service messages tied to a specific action — a password reset, an invitation, a report the user requested, or an update about a job application the person submitted.
- To support, maintain, secure and improve the service.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not send marketing email from the platform.
Where it is stored
Orbyts runs on Amazon Web Services in the Asia Pacific (Sydney) region. Employee personal information is stored and processed in Australia. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Some supporting services we rely on may process limited technical data outside Australia. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles the information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Who we share it with
We disclose personal information only:
- to the employer whose account the information belongs to;
- to service providers who host or support the platform, under contract and only as needed to deliver it;
- where we are required or authorised by law; and
- with consent.
How long we keep it
Customer data is retained for as long as the customer's account is active, and afterwards only as long as needed to meet legal, accounting or record-keeping obligations. A customer may ask us to export or delete their data.
Your rights
You may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or complain about how we have handled it. If you are an employee or candidate of one of our customers, the fastest route is usually your employer, because they control the record — but you are welcome to contact us and we will help.
If you are not satisfied with our response you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, or in New Zealand the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

The Orbyts platform uses cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to protect your session. This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
